3. Arrange your own transportation, both ways.
4. Keep your phone charged and keep conversations in the app until you trust someone.
5. If something feels off, leave. You never owe anyone an explanation.

Every Who's Down IRL™ hangout happens in a public venue — a cafe, park, gym, library, market, museum, coworking space or similar.

Private homes, hotel rooms and private vehicles are never acceptable meeting places. If someone asks you to meet at one, or pushes to move to a “second location”, decline and report them.

• Read the hangout details and the host's profile.
• Use Share My Plan to send a friend the what, where, when, and when you expect to be done.
• Know how you're getting there and back before you leave.
• Don't share your home address, workplace schedule, financial details or documents.
• Ask questions in the hangout chat if anything is unclear — a good host will answer.

Use the check-in buttons to mark I'm here, I'm good and I'm home. It takes a second and it gives your people a signal.

• Stay in the public area of the venue.
• Watch your own drink and food.
• Don't accept rides from people you just met.
• Trust discomfort — it is enough of a reason to go.

The red button is available on every screen inside the app. One tap gives you a fast route to emergency services and sends an urgent alert to our safety team with the hangout context.

Who’s Down IRL™ support is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Respect a no the first time it is said. No pressure about photos, contact details, alcohol, rides, second locations, money, or romance.

Who’s Down IRL™ is a platonic social discovery and meetup platform — not a dating or hookup app. Meet people. Make plans. Go IRL.

Romantic or sexual solicitation is a violation of the Community Guidelines and the Acceptable Use Policy.

Members verify their email, phone and — through Stripe Identity — a government ID and selfie. That reduces fake and duplicate accounts, and it is a real signal.

Verification is one part of our safety system and does not replace personal judgment or safe meetup practices. It is not a criminal background check and is not an endorsement of any member.

We do not run criminal background checks, we do not supervise hangouts, and a badge is not a character reference. See the Verification Policy.

Blocking is instant and private. Reporting sends the details to our moderators, who can warn, restrict, suspend or remove accounts. You can also leave private trust feedback after a hangout — it is never shown to the other member. Full detail: Reporting, Blocking & Enforcement.

Who's Down IRL™ is for adults only. If you believe a member is under 18, report them right away using the Underage user category. We treat those reports as a priority.

Contact local emergency services first if you are in danger. Then tell us through Support or by reporting the member, so we can act on the account. You will never be penalized for putting your safety first.
