Reporting, Blocking & Enforcement

You should never feel stuck with someone who makes you uncomfortable. Blocking is instant. Reporting is private. Here's exactly what each one does and what happens next.

Blocking
Blocking is instant and private. When you block someone, normal direct interaction stops: you won't see each other in discovery, you won't see each other's hangouts, and they can't message you.
We do not send the blocked person a notification telling them who blocked them. You never owe anyone an explanation for a block.
Reporting
You can report a member from their profile, a hangout page or the group chat — the flag icon. Reporting takes seconds, and you can block at the same time. Current categories:
- Made me feel unsafe
- Harassment or abusive behavior
- Inappropriate or sexual content
- Didn't match their profile
- Ignored my boundaries
- No-show or repeated cancellations
- Underage user
- Scam, spam or solicitation
- Other safety concern
You can add details, and we encourage it — what happened, when, and where. Screenshots or context help us act faster. Nothing you write is shown to the person you reported.
Reporting a member you believe is under 18
Who's Down IRL™ is strictly 18+. If you have reason to believe a member is under 18, report them using the Underage user category. We treat these reports as a priority.
Where we receive credible information that a member may be under 18, we may restrict the account immediately, investigate, request appropriate re-verification, suspend, or remove the account. Information related to these reviews is handled as sensitive and kept to authorized administrators.
How reviews work
Reports go to our moderation queue with a timestamp and any details you provided. Moderators may look at the reported content, the hangout involved, chat messages relevant to the report, account history and prior reports.
We aim to review reports promptly, but we are a small team and we do not monitor reports in real time.
Who’s Down IRL™ support is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Enforcement actions
Depending on what the available information supports, we may:
- take no action, where the evidence does not support a violation;
- issue a warning;
- restrict features such as hosting, messaging or discovery;
- remove content or a profile photo;
- cancel or remove a hangout;
- temporarily suspend an account;
- permanently ban an account and its owner from returning;
- preserve relevant records where legally appropriate;
- cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
We cannot promise a specific outcome, and we don't share another member's account details, moderation notes or enforcement history with reporters. Those records are visible only to authorized administrators.
Retaliation and false reports
Reporting someone in good faith will never count against you. Using reports to harass someone — coordinated or knowingly false reporting — is itself a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision about your account was wrong, contact Support with any context you can share. We'll re-review where there is new information. Ban evasion — creating a new account after removal — is not an appeal, and results in permanent removal.
